Cooking Without Oil – How Cool Is That?

If you are on a diet, or simply want to start eating healthier, this may be something you’d not want to pass up. The Phillips Air Fryer, a small machine that sits right on your counter if you want it to, cooks food with little or no oil. This is perfect if, say, you love french fries (or chips, as some call them) but do not love the fact that they are usually boiled in oil. Potatoes are absorbent, so no matter how much you drain them after you deep fry them, you are still getting a load of oil in every bite. Compare that to cooking without oil, except for a teaspoon of it simply to coat the potatoes, as they are cooked in a Phillips Air Fryer. A significant difference, don’t you think?

It should be much easy!

It seems like it should be easier to eat a healthy diet these days, with product labels and restaurant menus that disclose calorie and fat information. What many are finding, though, is that the disclosure doesn’t make that much of a difference in how they eat — they just know more, now, about why they shouldn’t be eating it. That you can cook some of your favorite foods – french fries, buffalo wings, “fried” chicken and other things – means that you no longer have to feel guilty about eating some of these items. Not to mention that by cooking without oil you can avoid that logy feeling you sometimes get after eating grease-saturated food.

Avoid cooking greasy foods at all cost!

Cooking normally greasy foods in the oven has long been an alternative, but that comes with some costs. Heating up your kitchen or your house, for instance. Even modern ovens are unable to completely contain the heat; older oven models don’t even pretend to. So by cooking without oil — and without the oven — you are not only saving one fat and other things that can sabotage a healthy diet. You are saving money on energy costs associated with cooling down the room  — or even the house — after a traditional oven has been in use.

Try cooking without oil!

Don’t know if things will taste as good if there is not a lot of oil or grease involved in the cooking? Probably one of the best things you can do for your diet and healthy eating program is to try cooking without oil and see. Think of a few things that you would normally deep fry or put in an oven and try them in an air fryer instead. If they don’t come out crispy (if they are supposed to be) and tasty, then take it back. Many homes have the most rigid taste testers around — children — so try it on yours, if you have them. If the food you’ve prepared while cooking without oil gains their approval, you are well on your way to not only eating healthier yourself but encouraging your family to do so as well. Without sacrificing taste, texture, or anything but a whole lot of oil.
